Enfo Broadcast AS is a Norwegian-based company, founded in 2004. The company focuses on product innovation and creating new value added services for the energy industry. Enfo develops hardware, software and integrated solutions to improve the utilization of low priority energy loads and distributed generation in order to reduce energy consumption and costs.

 

Enfo Broadcast’s goal is to become a leader in providing easy low-cost participation in the energy market for low priority energy loads and distributed energy resources.

 

Enfo has developed a Power Gateway that is installed at the customer’s premises. The Power Gateway distributes the received control signals. The control signals are distributed (wireless or wired) to actuators connected to the low priority loads and to the distributed generation resources to be controlled. The Power Gateway may be installed in the panel or placed anywhere inside the premises according to the customer’s requirements. The Power Gateway exists in three different versions (see illustration):

• UNO – Switch in the box – plug in outlet

• DOS – Touch screen and communicate with the actuators at the loads – wall mounted

• TRES – Installed in panel and communicate with actuators at the loads

The Power Gateway interfaces with the electrical meters and can transmit energy consumption or energy produced upstream to ISP. This in formation is sent to the local utility and the wholesaler for creating the energy bill to the customers.

 

The System solution consists of an Automation system, downstream and upstream communication infrastructure (2wc) to the customers, a Power Gateway placed at the customer premises, with actuators placed at the low priority loads and the distributed resources to be controlled.

 

The hardware is equipped with software to enable the required functionality and security.

 

Enfo offers analyses of the customer’s electrical installation and energy usage. The results are used to show the potential energy savings and cost savings. Based on the customers preferences and the electrical installation Enfo will install our system solution.

 

The system solutions have the functionality to control energy loads and distributed energy generation in order to:

• Reduce energy consumption for customers and thus reduce the energy costs

• Bundle several distributed resources together and achieve an increased revenue stream for the owners

• Respond to grid power shortages and emergency situations

• Reduce the amount of interruption of power deliveries

 

The system solution will deliver substantial benefits to society. A number of systems solutions have been deployed in Norway for different applications. The results of the solutions in operation show that there is a significant potential to reduce the energy consumption (and costs) by utilizing our system solution.
