Statoil is continuing its expansion in the Nordic petrol distribution market, and has now announced that it has acquired the Danish company Haahr Benzin.
This means that Statoil now has a 17 per cent share of the petrol station market, and is the secons largest petrol distributor in Denmark.
Danes now have a choice of a total of 330 Statoil petrol stations, according to a Danish Statoil press release.
Haahr Benzin and Danish Statoil have over the past two years carried out a strong price war which has reduced earnings, according to Jyllands-Posten.
The sale needs approval by the Danish competition authorities.
