Both researchers and representatives of industries in both countries have expressed their intention to participate, some by taking the responsibility for organising workshops during the Cape Town part of the event. In fact, the “Team Norway” organising committee last week decided to add a Day 4 to the original plan to allow for two special interest sessions. The latest version of the programme is available here.

The proposals for the workshops are currently being considered, but due to the current Norwegian summer holidays, the workshop programme will not be available until the beginning of September.

As you will see from the programme, we expect high level political participation from both countries. Final confirmation on their availability, however, will not be forthcoming until somewhat closer to the conference.

We are also pleased to announce that a special Team Norway South Africa web-page has been set up www.teamnorway.co.za. Although still in its embryonic stage, the web-site will be the main source for updated information on the Science Week, including the latest version of the programme. It will also provide registration-capabilities fairly soon, so make sure you bookmark the site.

The main contact point for SW will be Science Counsellor Karl Klingsheim Karl.Klingsheim@innovationnorway.no at his base at the Embassy in Pretoria, but all the other members of Team Norway will also be at hand for questions and inputs.
