ARNHEM, The Netherlands – 14 March 2018 – DNV GL, the world’s largest independent energy advisory and certification body, has appointed wind energy professional Peter Brun as Global Offshore Wind Segment Leader. Brun is responsible for stakeholder management, alliance building and promoting offshore wind development throughout the world.
Brun brings more than 26 years of experience in the wind energy industry and international diplomacy. His rich and varied expertise in the wind industry, includes holding dual Vice Chairman roles at EWEA (now WindEurope) and Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) between 2009 to 2013. He was also Chairman of the Danish Wind Energy Association from 2007 to 2011. In addition to his work for wind associations, Peter has held many roles in private companies, including Senior Vice President within Vestas for over seven years, where he worked for the development of wind power together with a broad range of stakeholders worldwide.
His collaborative approach within these roles and his regulatory & investment risk management, helped to raise the profile of wind energy, including offshore wind, and how the engineering and cost challenges can be overcome to realise the benefits of this clean electrical generation technology.
