Norwegian shipowners are lining up, hoping to acquire a giant contract to transport natural gas from Nigeria.

It will be necessary to build up to five new gas tankers, worth altogether NOK 6 billion.

The Bergesen, Leif Hoegh and the John Fredriksen Golar LNG are all competing for for the contract to transport the natural gas from Nigeria to the world market, according to Aftenposten.

The contract may run for as long as 20 years, and the winner will be announced in August or September, the newspaper writes
