Norway remains in the top 10 on ‘ease of doing business’

Norway ranks 9th among 189 countries benchmarked in the latest survey performed by the International Finance Corporation and The World Bank.

Each country recieves a score on the following 10 criterias:

  • Starting a Business
  • Dealing with Construction Permits
  • Getting Electricity
  • Registering Property
  • Getting Credit
  • Protecting Investors
  • Paying Taxes
  • Trading Across Borders
  • Enforcing Contracts
  • Resolving Insolvency

 

Norway scores particularly well on the topics of ‘registering property’, ‘paying taxes’, ‘enforcing contracts’ and ‘resolving insolvency’.

UkraineRwanda, the Russian Federation, the PhilippinesKosovoDjiboutiCôte d’IvoireBurundi, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Guatemala are among the economies improving the most in 2012/13 in areas tracked by Doing Business.

Singapore topped the global ranking on the ease of doing business. Joining it on the list of the top 10 economies with the most business-friendly regulatory environments are Hong Kong SAR, ChinaNew Zealand; the United StatesDenmarkMalaysia; the Republic of KoreaGeorgiaUnited Kingdom and Norway.
