TRENDS CHANGE
I’ve noticed that more people want to use colour in their interior, and dark floors are one of the elements that we are starting to see more of. It is fun to see how the different trends evolve.

Dark floors create depth to the room, and also brings forth a calm atmosphere. When we come home, we often feel the need to sit back and relax. Dark floors can contribute to that relaxing feeling.
Even though I still believe that light floors have a stable place in today’s trends, more people are starting to choose dark floors. We are not afraid to be different, and we dare to stand out.

A dark floor often creates more attention, because it is a furniture on its own, and it is also a timeless choice. When some people choose a dark floor, they go outside their comfort zone, but they just might end up with a floor that they are even more proud of.
COLOURS THAT MATCH YOUR PERSONALITY
If you wonder which colours you should choose for a dark floor, both dark and light colours are good options. Light colours create a beautiful contrast, while dark colours can create that warm atmosphere. Don’t be afraid to paint all your walls in the same colour. Paint your living room in the colour that you like and use textiles in the same colour palette as your wall colour, together with a colour of contrast. Colours represent our personality, so mix different colours and choose something you will be happy with.
When it comes to colour trends, we are moving more towards lighter and warmer colours. Instead of choosing the darkest wall colours, we are seeing more of it in other materials, like floors and black details in steel.

A good advice when it comes to choosing the right floor is to use plank to create the feeling of a bigger room. Skirtings and stair nosings also contribute to this.
