Schlumberger Technologies Receive 2022 Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation

PowerDrive Orbit G2 RSS and Subsea Live service recognized for excellence and achievement in carbon management and subsea systems categories

Hart Energy’s E&P recently announced two of Schlumberger’s technologies have received its prestigious 2022 Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation (MEAs). PowerDrive Orbit G2* rotary steerable system (RSS) and the Subsea Live* data-driven performance service were selected as the top technologies for innovation and achievement in the awards program’s carbon management and subsea systems categories, respectively.

“E&P has consistently honored technical innovation that enables our industry to overcome seemingly impossible challenges,” said Len Vermillion, Editorial Director of Hart Energy. “We are thrilled to announce this year’s outstanding award recipients whose engineering innovations are making tremendous impacts in energy.”

The Subsea Live service brings new speed and certainty to decision making for offshore production operations. By integrating OEM expertise with automation, physics-based simulation, and AI to extract actionable insights in a secure, collaborative digital solution, the service enables operators to transition from reactive to proactive operations and to optimize asset performance.

PowerDrive Orbit G2 RSS is a Schlumberger Transition Technology* that quantifiably helps customers reduce the environmental impact of their drilling operations. The PowerDrive Orbit G2 RSS not only helps customers achieve sustainability objectives by reducing drilling time and the associated rig emissions, but it also delivers superior performance and business results.

The E&P MEAs is an annual awards program recognizing new products and technologies that demonstrate innovation in concept, design and application. This year, E&P recognized technologies in 11 categories across a broad range of disciplines.
