Norner demonstrates commitment to the Oil and Gas industry through investments in new test facilities

We have the pleasure to inform that Norner now has invested in new test facilities andestablished ISO and Norsok methods for testing of non-metallic materials in contact with mediarelated to Oil and Gas production.

Norner continue to extended its laboratory for ageing, compatibility and weathering durability with test methods for qualification of systems used inoffshore and marine sector.

Norner has more than 35 years of experience in performing ageing studies. We have establisheda range of methods where products and sample specimens are exposed to different kind ofenvironments. This includes the natural environmental factors such as sun light (UV),temperature and humidity or more extreme environments of mechanical stress and fatigue, chemical exposure or ageing at high pressure and temperatures. Norner intends to continue thedevelopment of methods adapted to the requirements of materials for offshore installations andother marine applications. We can now offer the following qualifying tests according to Norsok & ISO:

• Norsok M-710 : Qualification of non-metallic sealing materials and manufacturers
• ISO 23936-1 : Non-metallic materials in contact with media related to Oil & Gasproduction, part 1 : Thermoplastic
• ISO 23936-1 : Non-metallic materials in contact with media related to Oil & Gasproduction, part 2 : Elastomers

Norner is an international and independent plastics institute. Norner engages in productdevelopment, research projects, quality assurance, durability testing, failure analysis andconsulting through the whole plastics value chain. The labs include advanced test facilities andprocess pilots with ISO 9001 approval and Achilles qualification.“These extended capabilities for ageing and durability studies give established and newcustomers in the offshore industry an even more complete range of competence and capability inmaterial technology” says Tine Rørvik, Managing Director of Norner

“We are a leading provider of failure analysis and third party material testing and the new testsdemonstrate that Norner takes the challenges in oil, energy and marine industries seriously.”Says Henning Baan, Laboratory manager at Norner.
