New Resources on the Frontiers, New Technology on Mature Fields

Norway is currently the world’s third-largest exporter of oil and gas, and despite fears that the country might run dry, the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) is more interesting than ever. Mature fields prolong their lives by adaptation through new technology, and there are still vast undiscovered resources in such areas as the Barents Sea. Less than one-third of the total resources on the NCS have been produced, and 45% remain in existing fields and discoveries. In other words, oil and gas opportunities still abound in Norway.
