The Contract was won in an international competitive bidding with MontgomeryWatson Harza (USA) and Stanley (USA)/Hatch (Canada)/Lahmeyer (Germany).

The power station was damaged during the civil war and many of the main structures need to be rebuilt. The consultancy services includes review of conceptual design, detail design, preparation of tender documents for electro-mechanical works, hydraulic steelworks and civil works, project management, construction supervision and services during the guarantee period.

The construction work will be carried out as four separate Contracts;

• Civil (powerstation, embankment dam and spillway)
• Electro/mechanical (turbines, generators, aux. equipment)
• Transmission lines and substations
• Access roads
