Heli-One Rotor Blade Service Improves Efficiency In The North Sea

Heli-One, the world’s largest helicopter support and maintenance service provider, has announced new capability to service Sikorsky S-92 main rotor blades from its facility in Stavanger, Norway.

This new offering will improve the efficiency of Sikorsky  S-92 operators by reducing the shipping time, overall turn time, and cost, said Anthony DiNota, President of Heli-One.

“Putting in-demand services in convenient locations is one way that we are helping customers to improve their availability and efficiency,” said Mr. DiNota.

“We are continuing to invest in capabilities to support the new generation aircraft as operators serving the oil and gas industry continue to modernize their fleets.”

The blade maintenance services now available at Heli-One Stavanger include the replacement of nickel abrasion strips, skin-patch and wire-mesh repairs, adhesive injections and filler repairs, paint touch-ups and replacement of tip caps.

Global helicopter services provider CHC Helicopter, has selected Heli-One to service the blades of its North Sea S-92 fleet, flying from the Netherlands, U.K. and Norway.

“CHC has a large fleet of S-92 aircraft serving in the North Sea, including from bases here in Norway,” said Mr. Arne Roland, CHC’s regional director in Norway.

“We are focused on maintaining high availability for our customers and repairing blades here in Norway means maintenance time is significantly reduced.”
