Gümüşdoğa is merging three existing farms in the Muğla region into a new site that will become the largest Bass and Bream farm in Turkey. The facility is located in Güllük Bay, in the southwestern part of Turkey. The company is investing heavily in new and modern equipment, including 16 Polarcirkel 220-meter pens with 500mm brackets and sinker tubes.
“This will be the first time that we produce 220 meters pens with 500mm pipes and brackets in Turkey. It is a very exciting scope for us, proving our production capabilities to the Turkish aquaculture industry,” says Alper Demircan, Sales & Operation Manager AKVA group Turkey.
The new project for Gümüşdoğa is AKVA group Turkey’s largest project to date, providing important predictability for the company. Seven of the company’s 24 employees are allocated to the project, which will continue until summer 2020.
“We have hired additional land to increase our pen production capacity and made additional investments in machines and vehicles. We now have the largest and most capable construction site in Turkey,” the Sales & Operation Manager states.
Gümüşdoğa has been an important customer of AKVA group Turkey since 2015, when the company started replacing outranged equipment with new and larger pens. During the course of the last four years, Gümüşdoğa has also invested in new Polarcirkel pens and Akvasmart CCS Feeding Systems for their developments in Mersin and Antalya at the southern coast of Turkey.
Gümüşdoğa is one of the biggest aquaculture production companies in Turkey and is also a leading producer of fish feed.
