With special facilities for constructing naval FRP sandwich vessels, Umoe Mandal can offer:

Minehunters & Minesweepers
The Umoe Mandal minehunters and sweepers are state-of-the-art mine countermeasure vessels (MCMV), and have proven their capabilities in international exercises and assignments. These vessels are the safest MCMVs ever built. Compared to their traditional monohull counterparts, they can maintain operations in rougher seas and harsher weather, and shock loads from underwater explosions are 60 % lower. The vessels feature a high degree of automation, as well as advanced sonar capabilities and command control systems.

Umoe Mandal developed and delivered nine of these vessels to the Royal Norwegian Navy from 1989 to 1997. The vessels are multi-functional for peace, crisis and wartime operations, serving as MCMV, patrol, hydrographic, and search and rescue vessels.

25-m Monohull Patrol & Rescue Craft
The vessel is designed according to the classification DNV +1A1 HSLC Patrol R0 E0, which requires 6.05 g at LCG for the hull and all equipment installed.

The vessel can be easily configured to meet any naval or civilian requirement regarding coastal patrol or search and rescue, and can be armed with light surface-to-surface missiles and lightweight guns.

Fast Attack & Patrol Boats
In 1999 Umoe Mandal delivered the prototype for a new series of 47-m air-cushion catamaran fast attack and patrol boats for the Royal Norwegian Navy. The vessel is designed for anti-invasion, interception and patrolling purposes. The prototype, the HNoMS Skjold, offers exceptional features, including a top speed of 57 knots.

This state-of-the-art design is based on air- cushion catamaran principles. Water jets and two 6,000-kW gas turbines provide propulsion. The vessel will be outfitted with surface-to-surface missiles and a 76-mm gun.
