INTSOK was established by the Norwegian oil and gas industry and the Norwegian Government in 1997 as an independent non-profit foundation.
Its aim is to strengthen the long-term basis for value creation and employment in the Norwegian oil and gas industry through expanding its international business activities. The upstream oil and gas sector is a vital element in the Norwegian economy, providing employment for some 250.000 people directly and indirectly in Norway. It has developed competitive, high quality products and services in one of the most demanding oil and gas provinces in the world, the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
INTSOK is a network-based organization. That means partners can exchange experience and knowledge of market developments both in Norway or internationally. The organization also works on supporting oil and gas companies to compete in the global market and building up relationships abroad.
Today, INTSOK represent some 300 partner companies, including subsidiaries. These companies have proven their competitiveness by winning international contracts in supply chains for the petroleum sector.
