REC Wafer’s vision is to help increase the global use of clean and renewable energy and thereby reduce the negative environmental impacts from traditional energy sources. The company accomplishes this by seeking to be the most cost-effective solar energy company in the world.

REC Wafer consists of REC ScanWafer, a company with two world-class production sites for multicrystalline silicon wafers in Glomfjord and Herøya, Norway, and REC Sitech, a monosilicon ingot producer located next door to the Glomfjord multisilicon wafer facility in northern Norway.

The REC group is also involved in the production of feedstock for the solar industry, with two production sites for polysilicon in the United States. This makes REC Wafer the only wafer supplier with a captive and dedicated feedstock supply.
