Olvondo Industries was established 6th of December 2012 as a result of a so-called management buyout of the
production facilities of the Wärtsilä gear and propeller factory at Rubbestadneset, Bømlo.
Olvondo Industries continues a 110 year long production history in Rubbestadneset. The industry adventure started with the engine production from M. Haldorsen & Son Motorfabrikk in 1903 and which during the years grew to be the most significant engine factory in Norway.
The industry in Rubbestadneset has over the years experienced big changes. But still, there are today clear lines which connect back to Martinus Haldorsen and his son Haldor and their smithy. The creativity and the willingness to always develop are values Olvondo Industries are proud to inherit from this era. As we enter new markets and products we will always have the great history in our spines.
Engineering
We offer various engineering services upon demand from customers.
We deliver project management, design and construction services. Adding the complete services from procurement, machining, welding, assembly and test we add total value to the customer project by keeping the complete package under one quality control system.
Machining
Our specialty is machining of heavy components. Our machining centers can take up to 50 tons components and all have palette systems available. This makes us very flexible to fast change-overs giving customers the best lead times and priorities. The machines have tool magazines up to 280 tools installed. Again, this is to obtain flexibility and fast change-overs.
Welding
We are in the planning phase to develop welding as one of our main services. We want to be a complete industrial partner and welding is clearly needed by our customers. We are developing engineering within welding technology and the procedures and control measures needed.
Assembly and test
We have a long history and experience of mechanical assembly and testing operations. Vast majority of our operators have multiskills and certificates in industrial mechanics, piping, welding and machining. We work with mechanical assembly of complete product ranges.
