Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is one of two Norwegian firms chosen to work on the European fighter jet project called Eurofighter. The jobs are worth and estimated NOK 130 million.
Kongsberg was selected along with Thales Communications of Oslo, which will develop advanced systems for gathering and storing maintenance information.
Jens Petter Diseth of Thales said he hopes the contract “will open doors for other such contracts, and that we can participate in developing other flight programs.”
Eurofighter is also on the verge of granting three new contracts for development of radar technology with other Norwegian companies and the defense department’s research institute.
