Ida talked about how ocean currents cause vibration of pipelines in the free span of the seabed. She says that if the tube vibrates too much or too long it can cause fatigue failure in the tube which can lead to a major gas leak. Based on experiments and analysis of data from these she aims to improve the methods we have to predict these fluctuations, so that it can be done more safely and accurately in the future. Ida was interviewed by NRK1 Lørdagsrevyen and by Radio Revolt (student radio station in Trondheim). The NTNU Friday Dance was made especially for Researcher Grand Prix and features principal Torbjørn Digernes dancing.
