With the posters for marking of equipment for use in hazardous areas, BARTEC offers interested parties a well-proven overview with useful Ex information. The popular tools are constantly extended, optimized and updated.
The practitioner should be able to recognize the relationship between essential Ex-characteristics of the application and the equipment at a glance. Matching the Ex-relevant information is crucial for selection and safe operation of suitable Ex equipment.
In recent years, the number of relevant parameters has multiplied. In addition to criteria for ATEX (EN standards), electrical equipment now also include those of the IECEx system (IEC standards). A requirement and necessity for international markets.
The introduction of international ISO standards (EN ISO 80079-36, -37) for non-electrical explosion protection expands the already long-established IEC standards (EN IEC 60079-0 ff) for electrical explosion protection. The proven principle of graduation for electrical equipment in Equipment Protection Levels (EPLS) for use in Ex-Zones is now applied to non-electrical equipment.
This is new and noticeably increases the complexity of information on the marking plates of mechanical Ex equipment. The purpose of the poster is to make commonalities and differences between the marking features (ATEX/EN, IEC, ISO) easily and quickly recognizable.
Also with the newly created poster for the marking of electrical equipment according to the NEC rules for the US market, the proven Ex feature structure was implemented in the design.
Current changes from the standards, simple structures, clear comparisons and tables thus offer the user a helpful tool and quick access to the relevant information in everyday practice.
