The University of Cape Town is organising an information session presented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) on the EU Horizon 2020 research funding programme.

The focus will primarily be on the current open calls in the Climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials, Energy programmes (and possibly the Transport programmes).

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the European Union’s programme for research and innovation aimed at building competitive industries, better societies and excellence in science, running from 2014 to 2020 with a budget of €80 billion.

The seminar in Cape Town follows a similar event organised by RCN in cooperation with ESASTAP-Plus and DST in Oslo last November and attended by several of the Norwegian SANCOOP PIs. The UCT event will give the opportunity for interested South African PIs to familiarise themselves with the many funding opportunities offered by H2020. We would urge all those who have the opportunity to attend the information session. For more details, see http://www.esastap.org.za/events/
