Troms Chamber of Commerce

Troms Chamber of Commerce is an independent business organization whose tasks are to create value and contribute to a good life for the 100,000 inhabitants in the region.

The organization, with roots going back to 1844, represents all services and sectors with its more than 700 members. Through strong cooperation with industry, local authorities and the research and educational institutions, Troms Chamber of Commerce influences and develops the region in general and the business community in particular.

Services include, amongst others, performance of market surveys, issuing customs documents, facilitating and hosting meetings and conferences and an extensive expat and relocating service for companies that relocates foreign employees to the region. The programme called INN Tromsø assists newcomers with immigration, housing, language courses, network and partner support according to their needs to become integrated and feel at home.

The Tromsø region is located in the middle of the High North, highlighted as the most important strategic area by the Norwegian government. Based on this advantage the region has developed strong traditions in the fishery and other marine and maritime based industries and services. These traditions have been further developed through the years by research and innovation creating a bridge into the future. Marine bio prospecting, the safe management of the oceans and renewable energy are examples where old traditions have been consciously refined and brought into the future.
