Security Valley

Security Valley is the Norwegian ICT security cluster dedicated to combating the ICT security threat.

As a network cluster consisting of companies, research units, educational institutions and public organizations, Security Valley provides a basis of support related the central need for ICT security. One important dimension in this work is to create, extend and use networks and alliances with both regional and national networks and, crucially, international contact and the possibilities to exchange experiences and knowledge in the international arena.

One long-term goal of Security Valley is to become a national competence centre – a Norwegian Center of Expertise. In working to achieve this goal, Security Valley will actively support companies in their effort to improve their systems and routines, working with the industry to develop guidelines and continuously update and improve these. To be able to effectively meet its challenges, Security Valley also continually collects statistical data regarding volume, cost and consequences. An overview of the quantity will also give the government and private businesses the necessary understanding of the importance to act in a rapid manner.

The strength of Security Valley lies in the expertise within its members and close alliances with governmental, research and educational institutions. In an ongoing long term committed and coordinated effort, Security Valley together with its members and partners are dedicated to facilitate confidence in governmental and economic systems, combating theft of data and misrepresentation as due to a lack of  security measures, routines and rules.

The aim is to continue to establish national and international projects to make Security Valley known as the most important and complete security cluster based in Norway and with international recognition.
