Abelia is a trade and employers' association dedicated to improving the business environment for its member companies in the knowledge- and technology-based sector, and to promoting the industry's contribution to economic growth and social progress.

By influencing policy, Abelia improves business opportunities for its members and supports initiatives which stimulate the demand for its member companies' products and services. Abelia is associated with Norway’s largest employers’ organization – NHO (Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise). Abelia is a non-profit, non-party political organization funded by membership fees paid by member companies.


Abelia represents more than 950 member companies within sectors like IT, Telecommunications, R&D, Education and Consultancy.


Membership provides companies with opportunities like influencing government and other decision makers on important policy issues, meetings, conferences and workshops with the other companies within Abelia as well as 20.000 other NHO- member companies and access to news and research on trends within the industry, public policy issues and Abelias different activities. Member also receive free legal advice on labour legislation, HSE, employment contracts, wage determination, human resources strategies.
