Tough conditions demand tough training

Good training gets the best out of good equipment, which makes Vestdavit Academy a first port of call for all Vestdavit users. 

 

Launching and recovering a boat in a high sea is one of the most difficult things a ship’s crew has to do. It calls for good timing, good teamwork and faith in good equipment.
 
Operators who specify Vestdavit davits and boat handling systems give their crews the best equipment. Now Vestdavit is extending its service to ensure that crews have faith in the toughness and function of the equipment at all times. By establishing the Vestdavit Academy it can co-ordinate and improve the training it provides to users and maintainers of Vestdavit systems.

Vestdavit systems are at the top of the range and are designed to be simple and intuitive to operate. But that interactive simplicity and high level performance can only be delivered by increasingly complex systems. Those systems need two things; the right regular maintenance and users who understand their capabilities and limits.

Through After Sales agreements Vestdavit delivers tailored courses to users of its systems. The courses cover both the use and maintenance of the equipment. In 2013 there are already twelve scheduled courses and these are filling quickly with users from all over the world.

To facilitate the course Vestdavit is installing a new PLAR-4000 davit at its training facility at Falck Nutec, Bergen, Norway. The davit will be fitted with all relevant safety features and will serve as a demonstrator as well as a training platform for both maintenance and use in service.
