Ten Norwegian-Russian Svalbard projects received funding

 

The research Council of Norway received a total of 18 grant applications for the November 2014 deadline for the call to strengthen research cooperation between Norwegian and Russian researchers in Svalbard. The total amount applied for was NOK 17.4 million. NOK 9 million was available in this call.

This was the fourth opportunity for Norwegian researchers to ably for funding to enhance the cooperation with Russian researchers in Svalbard. The first call was in 2006. The call is targeted towards strengthening research cooperation and coordination between Norwegian and Russian researchers in Svalbard. This includes support for networking through joint activities in all relevant thematic areas.

On February 4, the programme board of the Polar Research programme decided to fund the following projects:
