Start-up lender steers toward smaller ship owners

This months sees a group of shipping industry executives and financiers announce plans to set up a shipping bank based in Norway. 

Small and medium-sized ship owners will be the main focus of the bank that aims to be set up and running by mid-next year. 

 

Halvor Sveen is the head of the Maritime & Merchant bank estimates that the maritime industry is faced with a $100bn credit gap.
