Snøhetta to design new San Francisco landmark

Snøhetta, the Norwegian architecture firm which has designed the new Oslo Opera House, has been chosen to design the new wing of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).

"After our visit to Oslo, there was no question that we had found our architects," said Neal Benezra, SFMOMA's director to San Francisco Chronicle. "It was a beautiful moment."

The cost of the San Francisco project is estimated at US$ 250 million, and is scheduled to open in 2016.
