Servogear signs new contract with Özata Shipyard

Servogear has announced the signing of a new contract with Özata Shipyard in Turkey. The contract includes the delivery of Servogear Ecoflow PropulsorTMfor two 39 meter passenger catamarans (YN 41 & YN 42).

These are number 14 and 15 of a total of 15 vessels in the CarbCAT® series built by Özata Shipyard for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The vessel will serve the outer bay routes.

SERVOGEAR CONTROLLABLE PITCH PROPELLER SYSTEMS

 

All 15 vessels are equipped with Servogear controllable pitch propeller systems. However, YN 41 and 42 will have some technical changes and operate under different conditions compared to the previously delivered:

The catamarans are designed and equipped with Servogear Propeller Tunnels for optimum flow to the propellers, minimum shaft inclination and to give space for optimum propeller diameter. They will also have a propeller cone/rudder arrangement for minimum drag and utilizing of the rotational energy in the propeller slipstream.

Delivery from Servogear is scheduled in Q4 2016 (YN 41) and Q1 2017 (YN 42).
