Servogear awarded with «Villsauen 2017»

This weekend, Servogear was granted with Hordaland internationalization award - Villsauen. The company from Bømlo produces propellers and gear-systems that results in lower CO2-emissions and better energy efficiency.

 

"Servogear is a notable example of how great ideas, courage, creativity and innovation can be used to embrace international markets. The winner is also a part of one of the many strong competence clusters along our coast" Said Monica Mæland, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry.

The internationalization award – Villsauen is a cooperation between Hordaland fylkeskommune and Bergen Chamber of Commerce. The award was handed out for the 15th time, and its purpose is to give attention to innovative companies that establish themselves in international markets on a permanent basis. Among previous winners are Lerøy Seafood, Framo Engineering, StormGeo and last year’s winner Vimond Media Solutions.

 

Servogear was established in 1973. Through decades their share of export has grown steadily. Today, export represents between 70-80 percent of the yearly turnover. All innovation, development and production takes place in Norway. In addition, Servogear has international partners in Asia, USA and other regions.

 

Their products are delivered to high speed offshore vessels, passenger vessels, workboats and yachts in more than 80 countries. Servogear is also a strong part in the development of “Urban Water Shuttle”, that is concept for a zero emission fast going passenger vessel.

 

Rolf Haldorsen, shareholder and leader of the board at Servogear, proudly received the award in front of more than 500 participants at the annual dinner.

 

This year’s jury was county councilor Anne Gine Hestetun, Helge Høibraaten (Vimond Media Solutions), Nina Broch Mathisen (Innovation Norway), Olga Pushkash (Norwegian Business School) and Marit Warncke (Bergen Chamber of Commerce).
