Seminar: New research programme on the culture and media sector

The Research Council of Norway is launching a new research programme on the culture and media sector (KULMEDIA) . The research programme will focus on the role of cultural life and media in society and on the impact of economic and technological trends on this sphere.  The KULMEDIA programme is a policy-oriented programme, and is designed to promote research on challenges facing the relevant sectors and to expand the knowledge base used to formulate policy. It will run for a five–year period, beginning in 2014. The programme is funded under the Ministry of Culture and has an overall budget of close to NOK 78 million (approximately NOK 15 million per year).

The Research Council is organising a seminar on the new research programme. The programme board will be presenting a draft work programme and plans for funding announcements. Time will also be set aside for discussion and feedback from research groups and other key users of the research.

The seminar is targeted towards researchers and other interested parties. Seats are limited and registration is binding.
