The value of Norwegian seafood exports in the first six months of 2013 totalled NOK 26.9 billion. This is a record high for the export of Norwegian seafood and a new all-time high for June.

“The high value of Norwegian seafood exports in the first half of 2013 is due primarily to record exports of Norwegian salmon and Fjord Trout, which totalled NOK 18.4 billion. The results also show an increase in the value of exports from aquaculture, while exports from fishery fell by NOK 1.9 billion to a total of NOK 8.3 billion”, says Terje E. Martinussen, CEO of the Norwegian Seafood Council.
