Production at Gullfaks A closed down

Statoil has closed down production at its Gullfaks A Field, and around 50 workers were on Friday sent ashore, Dagbladet reports.

The reason is a leaking pipe, which causes seawater from the ballast tanks to escape to the North Sea, the paper writes. 

However, there is no danger of pollution, according to Statoil information director Ola Anders Skauby. He estimates that it will take a few days to stop the leak.
