Prestigious prize to the Norwegian Museum of Science

The Norwegian Museum of Science in Oslo has received the International Design and Communication Award (IDCA) 2012 in the category Best Exhibition Layout, for its exhibition Mind Gap.

The two other finalists in the competition were The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Canada) og Natural History Museum of Utah by Ralph Appelbaum (USA).

The exhibition Mind Gap highlights the brain and brain research. Exhibition partner is the University of Oslo, and it was one of the highlights of the University's 200-year celebrations.

The IDCA awards were created in 2007 to celebrate excellent design and communication initiatives across the art world.

The IDCA awards assess communications, design and branding strategies within the arts and museum sphere. They also encourage art organisations to find original and inventive ways to communicate.

Previous winners in the museum category are the National Portrait Gallery (London), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), MusemusQuartier (Wien) og Rotterdam 2007 City of Architecture.
