Petroleum call focusing og interdisciplinary perspectives

“The petroleum industry faces many challenges that can’t be solved through technological advances alone,” says Tarjei N. Malme, programme coordinator for the PETROMAKS 2 programme. “This has been supported in input from research groups, in the many applications submitted to the Research Council and in analyses published in Norway and in other countries with significant petroleum resources.”

“The joint call issued by the PETROMAKS 2 and PETROSAM 2 programmes is focused on research that further expands interdisciplinary perspectives and can adequately integrate the many factors influencing future management and utilisation of petroleum resources,” states Marianne H. Aandahl, programme coordinator of the PETROSAM 2 programme.

The programme coordinators are hoping to receive project proposals that represent an interdisciplinary approach in terms of research methods and questions, and that involve research teams comprising individuals from a variety of subject areas and professional circles.

“The text of the call elaborates some key issues we want to shed light on, but within this framework it is up to the researchers to choose their own angles and approaches.

Both programme boards have taken active part in designing the text of the call. Information about the call will be available here.

Questions about the call for proposals may be directed to Senior Adviser Marianne Haavardsholm Aandahl  or Adviser Espen Forsberg Holmstrøm.
