OLF becomes Norwegian Oil and Gas

The general meeting of the Norwegian Oil Industry Association, OLF, has adopted the recommendation that the association change its name to Norsk olje og gass (Norwegian Oil and Gas Association).

The name change will take effect in mid-September.

"We aim to become even clearer. By changing our name, we are more clear on what we work with and who we work for," Gro Brækken, director general of the OLF, says.

The Norwegian Oil Industry Association has had its current name since 1989.

"Both the oil and gas industry and society have changed significantly since we got our current name. Our organisation has also changed. By changing our name to Norwegian Oil and Gas Association, we are clearer on who we work for and that we represent the entire Norwegian oil and gas industry, including both oil companies and supplier companies," Brækken says.

The new name will be launched in mid-September 2012. The new logo and visual profile will be unveiled at the same time.
