NOS-HS workshops 2015 - call opens in March

In order to promote the development of new research areas and programmes within the humanities and social sciences in the Nordic countries, NOS-HS supports a number of workshop series, consisting of two to three workshops held in the Nordic countries in 2016 and/or 2017. The call for proposals will open on March 17, and close on April 21 (the dates are preliminary!).

The series of workshops should have a strong research focus. NOS-HS will prioritize proposals which:

  • involve early stage researchers as active participants and contributors
  • aim at preparation of ambitious research proposals to Nordic and/or international research programmes
  • have special research policy relevance
  • involve actors from outside of the academic world

The proposal must be submitted by a principal applicant together with, as a minimum, two co-applicants from two different Nordic countries, thereby representing at least three institutions in three different Nordic countries. It is not possible to apply for funding for already established or on-going activities.

The NOS-HS workshop funding may be requested for the operating expenses for workshop activities including travel expenses, for dissemination of published results, and up to 10 % of the total amount requested for administrative expenses. The budget for a series of workshops under this call must range from 30 000 to 50 000 EUR.

The call will be launched on the Swedish Research Council’s website. You apply by submitting an application through the Swedish Research Council’s grant application and management system Prisma. An application prerequisite is that your higher educational institution has been approved as an administrating organization and created an organization account in Prisma. Please observe that the processing time for approving new administrating organizations is approximately two weeks. Before you can apply, you must also create a personal account in Prisma, where your personal data, CV and publications are stored. Please create your personal account in good time.

The proposals must include an activity outline containing justification and a description of the expected outcomes, a preliminary list of participants, the applicants’ CVs and lists of publications and the proposed budget for the series of workshops. Detailed instructions for how to apply will be published when the call opens.
