Norwegian Maritime Competence Center opens

Crown Prince Haakon will on Thursday officially open the new Norwegian Maritime Competence Center (NMK), located near Ålesund.

Among other facilities, the Center also contains the head office for all the Rolls-Royce Marine training centers in Europe.

Over three floors, Rolls Royce offers training simulators for maritime crews and officers, where they are able to practice on equipment which is available on only the most advanced ships.

This makes it possible to teach maritime staff and service engineers without taking ships out of service.
