Norway Royal Salmon with 5 New ASC Approved Sites

Norway Royal Salmon ASA (NRS) has received ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certification for five of sites. The sites are Mortensens, Næringsbukta, Klubben, Lille Kvalfjord and Store Kvalfjord in NRS Finnmark AS. 

Norway Royal Salmon- We are happy to have another 5 sites approved by the strictest international environmental standards in our industry. NRS Finnmark now has 7 sites approved by the ASC out of a total of 12 sites. This is a global standard for responsible farming and together with our green licenses, it will further reduce the influence on the environment. This will contribute to move this industry toward a more sustainable development and is of vital importance to our competitive advantage and future growth potential, says Charles Høstlund (CEO Norway Royal Salmon).

Norway Royal Salmon is working to certify all their sites according to the ASC-standard and they have a goal to have all sites approved by the ASC-standard within 2020.

ASC-standard is an environmental standard negotiated with WWF. It sets strict standards for how fish are produced and require documentation on laws and regulations, animal diversity, animal welfare, genetic integrity of wild population, responsible feed, control of fish diseases, social responsibility and that our supplies meets critical and essential points of the standard.
