Norconsult at the world’s biggest BIM conference in Las Vegas

For the second year in a row, a Norconsult project has been nominated for the AEC Excellence Awards.

From the main stage Norconsult was showcased with its unique and innovative use of new technology during this year’s Autodesk University Keynote Session. Norconsult was also awarded the AEC Excellence Award for the second year in a row at the world’s biggest BIM and VDC conference.

- ONE OF NORWAY'S MOST INNOVATIVE ENGINEERING- AND DESIGN COMPANIES

At the Technology Keynote session, with 10,000 attendees present, Norconsult was showcased with its unique use of BIM in last year's winning project, Vamma 12. "We're seeing more and more companies dramatically rethink the way they design and construct the buildings of today and those of the future. Take Norconsult, one of our customers and partners out in Norway and one of the country's most innovative design and engineering firms. They've sought to dramatically reduce costs and improve efficiency on complex engineering and construction projects - and Vamma 12 is prime example. Throughout the entire project, Norconsult has challenged the status quo. From drawingless design and construction to pushing the limits of what our products can do, Norconsult is doing more, doing it better, and doing it all with less - less resources, time, and impact on the environment," says Amy Bunszel, Senior Vice President of Design and Creation Products for Autodesk.

AMONG THE GLOBAL INDUSTRY LEADERS

For the second year in a row, a Norconsult project has been nominated for the AEC Excellence Awards. In 2016, our Vamma 12 project won first place in the "Energy and Natural Resources" category. In 2017, 145 projects from 32 different countries were nominated in four different categories.

"The AEC Excellence Awards is extremely prestigious in our industry, and competition is fierce to be nominated as one of the finalists. We are very pleased to get this recognition. It shows that our use of gaming technology in projects is ground-breaking," explains Thomas Angeltveit, BIM Coordinator at Norconsult.

TOTAL CONTRIBUTION

Norconsult was well presented at AU this year. In addition to the main stage and winning the award, Norconsult and NoIS shared their revolutionary workflows and technologies with international industry peers and customers in the Future of Making Things Experience Exhibit Hall. Experts from Norconsult also held multiple sessions during the pre-conference DevCon, Transportation Summit, and AU itself.

Autodesk University, held every year in Las Vegas, is the world's biggest BIM conference. More than 10,000 architects, engineers, designers, animators and business leaders from around the world, attend the conference.
