No duties on Norwegian salmon

The European Union Thursday rejected an EU commission suggestion to levy punitive duties on Norwegian salmon. A tax of 14 percent had been proposed. The decision comes as a great relief to Norwegian salmon exporters who wanted no change from current agreements with the EU. Several major European countries opposed the idea of a punitive tax now, one reason being that the existing salmon agreement expires this summer.
