New space contract for Norwegian firm

The Norwegian high tech company Presens has announced the award of a new contract for the delivery of the company's pressure sensors for ESA's new weather satellite ADM-Aeolus.

The contract, signed with the European conglomerate EADS Astrium, is worth Euro 320,000 (NOK 1.6 million), according to the Norwegian Space Centre (Norsk Romsenter).

- This is a prestigious project for us, says Peder Staubo, head of the Presens space program.

The launch of the ADM-Aeolus weather satellite is set for sometime in 2013.
