New Plant At Kårstø

According to Oilnet, the Kårstø complex north of Stavanger will have a new extraction plant assembled. Construction is due to start in March 2002 and will form a part of the existing complex and will receive and process gas from Statoil's Mikkel field in the Norwegian Sea. Once ready for operation which is due 1st October 2003 when Mikkel gas deliveries begin, it will increase the capacity of Mikkel's gas deliveries by 13.5 million cubic metres per day. A plan will be submitted to Norwegian authorities this autumn for installation and operation.
