New Holmenkollen lookout point

The new Holmenkollen Skijumping Hill is nearing completion, and a new lookout platform on top of the structure, 420 metres above sea level was opened to the public on Thursday.

The ski jumping hill itself was opened for use in March, and the new lookout point on top of the superstructure over two floors contains a glassed in bar area topped off by an outdoor lookoout platform which provides a 360 degree vista of the Norwegian capital, including the harbour and fjord, as well as the forested recreation area surrounding the city.

The Holmenkollen ski jumping hill has been rebuilt several times, and the lookout point has always been a favourite with tourists visiting Oslo.
