New Handbook on Design and Operation of Flexible Pipes

The Handbook is a result from a JIP on Safe and Cost Effective Operation of Flexible Pipes. The JIP is jointly run by MARINTEK, NTNU and 4Subsea with the oil companies ConocoPhillips, Dong Energy, ExxonMobil, Lundin, Maersk Oil, Shell and Talisman as participants.

The Handbook is a new release of the Handbook issued in 1992 (FPS 2000 project) with the same title. It is remade and incorporates new and extended sections in order to include experiences and updates since the beginning of the flexible pipe era offshore Norway in the late 80-ties. The Handbook is supplementary to the rules and regulations applied for flexible pipes, with description of methods and backgrounds to be applied both in the transfer of knowledge to new flexible pipe engineers as well as in the practical work on the operation of flexible pipes.

The Handbook is issued in two parts where Part 1 with description of methods and backgrounds is made publicly available by the JIP (click here to register and download your copy).

Part 2 has a confidentiality requirement for one year and includes JIP specific work which also serves as a Case Study for the Handbook.
