New barge to Målsøval Fiskeoppdrett

Akva Master 320 Classic is a modern feed barge optimized for efficient operations.

AKVA group is delivering a new AM 320 Classic feed barge with 320 tons storage capacity and 8 feed lines to Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett. The barge will operate on a new facility by Sistranda.

Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett is a family owned business at Frøya in the southern part of Trøndelag, Norway. The company has nine concessions and operations on seven facilities for salmon production. This autumn, a new facility will be put into operation, for which the company has ordered a new feed barge from AKVA group, due for delivery in September.

Akva Master 320 Classic is a modern feed barge optimized for efficient operations. It has a calculated strength of 3.5 significant wave height, metallized surface and a spacious, sound-proof engine room. The feed capacity is customized to the client’s needs. Måsøval has ordered 320 tons storage capacity and eight feed lines.

“It was the guys working in the production who wanted a barge from AKVA group. They are the ones who’ll be using the equipment, so their opinion matters a lot,” says Technical Manager in Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett, Johan Terje Andersen.

The company already has several feeding systems from AKVA group, both in hatcheries and other feed barges.

“The feeding systems are functioning well and easy to operate. This, combined with good opportunities to customize the barge according to our needs, were decisive,” Antonsen says.

The new AM 320 Classic barge will be the eight feed barge Måsøval Fiskeoppdrett puts into operation.
