Nevion strengthens local presence in Spanish media industry

Media transport specialist expands partnership with local video systems expert SAPEC.

Media transport pioneer Nevion has announced that its Spanish partner SAPEC is now offering its full suite of professional media transport solutions. Having previously worked with Nevion on the video networking side of its business, SAPEC will now provide sales, technical support and maintenance across Nevion’s full suite of professional broadcast and media transport solutions for IP, optical and terrestrial networks – from the camera to the home. The Madrid-based professional video systems expert has more than 35 years’ experience in the design, implementation and support of advanced technology for leading broadcast and telecommunications organisations.

“Our partners play a vital role in helping us prepare our customers for the next generation of media transport,” said Kjetil Bonde, svp of sales at Nevion. “SAPEC has a proven track record of working with Nevion to deliver major projects for leading telcos and broadcasters in Spain including Telefonica and RTVE. This extended agreement will enable our customers in Spain to take advantage of the convergence in broadcast, IT and telecoms technologies.”

SAPEC’s ceo, Miguel Cristobal said, “Broadcast infrastructure and media transport are experiencing exciting technology changes, and Nevion is leading the way in this area.  During the 10 years that we’ve successfully worked together, we’ve seen the important advances in products and solutions that Nevion is providing to its customers. By expanding this partnership to take on the full suite of Nevion’s professional broadcast and media transport solutions, we’re making the transition to these new technologies easier for our customers.”

Nevion provides signal and transport stream processing, routing and fiber transport systems for broadcast and post production applications. The world’s leading service providers use its managed media transport solutions to deliver professional audio and video over IP networks. Following its merger with T-VIPS, the company now offers digital terrestrial solutions for DVB-T/T2, ATSC and ISDB-T platforms.
