Nationwide strike avoided

A nationwide strike for industrial workers was avoided last night.

11, 000 industrial workers were expected to strike, but the parties came to an agreement late Wednesday afternoon. 

A new wage agreement was reached for the sector through arbitration 18 hours on overtime.

The new agreement means an additional NOK 0.75 per hour, equal to a wage increase of 3.3 per cent.

They also agreed to start discussions on how to revise the regulations for the pension system.
