NASA space research at 'The top of the world'

The US space research organization NASA will use the Longyearbreen glacier at Svalbard for testing out equipment which may be used on future space travels. The new equipment will be important for future trips to Mars and Europa, Jupiter's moon. Both are thought to be partially covered by ice, writes Aftenposten. NASA's tests will be carried out in cooperation with the Norwegian Polar Institute and the Norwegian Space Centre. The two institutions will also contribute financially to the test project.
