The Institute for Water and Environmental engineering will provide knowledge about the world's most important resource, water. 

NOK 8 million has been granted to new laboratories and sophisticated equipment which will help improve sustainability.

Memlab is equipped with new, advanced equipment for characterization of particles in different water qualities. The Research Council of Norway is the main source of funding for the first lab, and the money for drinking water laboratory comes from the faculty. 

In the new drinking water lab can do more, better and more flexible test, and it's been better space for teaching.

- We have been given a much better environment to work in. New, advanced instruments allow for better analysis and possibilities we did not have before, says Professor Cynthia Hallé satisfied.
